1. ABOUT AFROLAMPS

AfroLamps is a South African lighting brand creating contemporary lamps that combine natural wood, craftsmanship and culturally inspired shade designs.

Mixing Culture and Modern Beauty.

4. PRODUCTS & PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, dimensions, colours and specifications are accurate.

However, customers should understand that AfroLamps products incorporate natural materials and individually produced components.

Variations may occur in:

- wood grain;
- colour;
- tone;
- texture;
- natural markings;
- fabric;pattern placement; and
- finishing.

These variations are characteristics of natural materials and production processes and are not automatically defects.

Product photographs may also appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography conditions and the customer’s screen settings.

Where a lifestyle photograph contains furniture, décor, bulbs or other accessories, those items are not included unless specifically stated in the product description.

5. HOW OUR WOODEN BASES ARE MADE

AfroLamps wooden bases are produced using a combination of precision machine turning and skilled hand-finishing.

Some bases are constructed by carefully joining multiple pieces of the same type of natural wood before the assembled material is precision-turned, sanded and finished.

This process allows us to create the distinctive forms and proportions of our bases while retaining the natural characteristics of the wood.

Minor variations in grain, colour, texture and natural markings are therefore expected.

The fact that a product is made using natural wood does not, however, mean that a genuine manufacturing defect is automatically considered acceptable.
Defects will be assessed in accordance with our Warranty Policy and applicable consumer protection law.

6. CULTURAL INSPIRATION

AfroLamps products may draw inspiration from South African cultural traditions and visual languages, including Afrikaners, Basotho, Cape Malay, English, Indian South Africans, Khoisan, Ndebele, Pedi, Swazi, Tsonga, Tswana, Venda, Xhosa and Zulu influences, where identified on individual products or collections.

Our products are contemporary design interpretations.

Patterns, colours and visual elements may be adapted for use in contemporary lampshades and may not represent an exact reproduction of traditional clothing, artwork or cultural artefacts.

Cultural expressions can also vary between communities, regions and historical periods.

AfroLamps seeks to approach its cultural inspirations respectfully but does not claim to be an ethnographic, historical or anthropological authority.

7. PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
